Most women love the way their boyfriends smell. Some women even like to keep one their boyfriend’s tattered old college T-shirts around just for those times he’s out of town for the weekend. Studies show that many women prefer their men to have a clean scent with a light hint of body odor. This doesn’t mean guys should go granola and toss their deodorant sticks out, it only means that women like a more natural smell.
When men are physically active their bodies emit more hormones-and that means more testosterone. And research shows that women’s noses are customized to detect these hormones in the air. A men’s designer cologne that is most successful in attracting the ladies should have some pheromones mixed in with them. Some studies show that women like men’s colognes that have scents reminiscent of chocolate and the ocean.
A crossover GPS is one that is supposed to “do it all”-for on-road AND off-road navigation. Having one device that has road and topographical maps sounds great, but there are some other features that bear consideration when choosing a device like the Magellan Triton.
Screen size is one important factor when choosing a crossover GPS device. The outdoor GPS devices usually have smaller screens than the automobile type, simply because a smaller size is easier to pack around while hiking, biking, hunting, etc. Outdoor GPS devices usually do not have a touch screen, a beneficial design for any sport where the user may be wearing gloves. Automobile GPS devices usually have voice prompts or text-to-speech options, while outdoor GPS devices do not. Additional considerations are the GPS device’s tolerance of water, the toughness of its construction, and the available map resolution.
Black pearls are made by a species of oyster called Pinctada Margaritifera, commonly known as the black-lipped oyster. This oyster appears in the South Pacific. Historically most black pearls came from Tahiti, and they are therefore known as Tahitian black pearls. In recent years, however, both nearby Kiribati and the Cook Islands have begun producing black pearls, accounting for 3-4% of the world’s supply.
In the past, black pearls were amazingly expensive due to their extreme rarity. Approximately one in ten-thousand oysters will produce a black pearl, and of these a small fraction are of adequate luster, shape and size to be desirable. Black pearls are therefore associated with high luxury and class in jewelry, and many prestigious necklaces and bracelets of royalty and the elite contain black pearls of large size.
Since the 1960s black pearls have been cultured, causing a dramatic decrease in price. A piece of Mississippi freshwater clam shell is used as a nucleus, placed near the oyster’s genitals, along with a bit of flesh from the oyster to serve as a mantle. Over approximately the next two years the oyster places thousands of layers of nacre and ultimately creates a pearl.
Black pearls are substantially larger on average than their more common white brethren. Most white (and off-white) pearls come from the Japanese Akoya oyster, which rarely exceeds 3 inches (7.6cm) in diameter. Pinctada Margaritifera can exceed a full foot (30.4cm) in diameter, allowing for pearls in excess of 12 millimeters (.5 in).
Black pearls, it should be noted, are rarely actually black in color. They range from nearly black to white. Many are silver, and the rarest and most valuable are a deep purplish green. The luster of a pearl is also a major factor in its apparent color, with the best pearls having a translucent sheen that reflects a number of different colors depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
Although harvesting natural oysters for pearls in places like Tahiti is illegal, with the advent of cultured black pearls, prices have become quite affordable for these rare beauties. A small pearl with an average grade and fairly common color may be gotten for as low as $100 (US dollars). In contrast, a large (18mm/.7in or greater) pearl with a perfect grade can cost in excess of $15,000. Even the smallest of black pearls are certain to draw attention and praise from all who see them, and they are a truly wonderful addition to a special piece of jewelry.
First all there are two types of real pearls; natural and cultured. The natural pearl come from the sea and was formed naturally by a speck of sand getting inside an oyster. The other one is where a speck of dust in placed in the oyster by man and raised on farms in either fresh or salt water. These are commonly called “Cultured Pearls” and are a lot cheaper than the natural pearls.
Look at the picture and which one are the real pearls and which one are the fake pearls? If you said the one on the right side of the picture, then you would be correct. The one on the left is made from plastic.
The eases way to check to see if your pearls are real is to take a sharp knife and scrape the pearl with the blade of the knife. If the pearl color scrapes off, then you have a fake pearl. Another way is to rubbing two pearls together. If they feel sooth, then they are fakes. If you feel friction between them, they are real. If the price looks too good to be true, then more than likely they are fakes.
You know that 14K white gold pendant that your mother gave you; it isn’t as shiny as it used to be. It is all tarnished now. Now you could run out and buy a commercial jewelry cleaner, but that will cost you money and the time it takes to go to the store. You can save time and money by cleaning it with stuff that you already have in your home.
Here are 8 simple steps to cleaning your gold jewelry with commend household products: (here is the list of things that you will need: dish soap, Ammonia, two (2) bowls, an old toothbrush, a clean dry cloth)
- In your bowl add three (3) drops of the dish soap.
- Fill the bowl up with lukewarm water.
- Add a drop if the ammonia to the water.
- Stir the ingredients in the bowl to combine them.
- Place your gold jewelry in the bowl. Let the jewelry sit for 15 to 30 minutes. This will depend on how tarnished the pieces are.
- Now remove the gold from the bowl and use the toothbrush to scrub all the nooks and crannies clean.
- In the second bowl add clean water and rinse the gold pieces. Make sure that you get all of the soap off.
- Dry your gold pieces off with a clean dry soft cloth.
That is it, you are done. This will work on yellow or with gold. Warning: do not try this on your grandfather’s gold watch.

I have always loved taking pictures ever since I got my first camera on my 9th birthday. Way back in 1959. That wasn’t my first SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera. No, we have to fast forward 18 years to 1977 and that is when I got my first SLR 35mm camera for Christmas. It was a Pentax K-1000. It was a great first SLR camera, it was totally manually operated. You had to set everything on it from the shutter speed to the f stop. I took some great photos with that camera.
Well Pentax has come a long ways from its beginning in 1919 in Toshima Japan. The company started out as being Asahi Kogaku Goshi Kausha and in 1938 was changed to Asahi Optical Co., Ltd. In 1952 Asahi Optical introduced its first camera, the Asahiflex (the first Japanese SLR using 35mm film). The name “Pentax” was actually created from “Pentaprism” and “Contax”, this brand became a registered trademark of the East German VEB Zeiss Ikon, which later sold the name “Pentax” to Asahi Optical in 1957. In 2002 it was renamed the Pentax Corporation and then in 2006 merged with the Hoya Corporation to become the Hoya Pentax HD Corporation.

Pentax Kx
Today, they are making high quality digital SLR cameras like the Kx. They have come a long ways, baby.
Founded in 1937, Canon was originally established in Tokyo, Japan. The founders were Takeshi Mitarai, Goro Toshida, and others. From its small beginnings, Canon grew to become a multinational corporation. They have always been in the imaging and optical products market. Their product line has grown to include computer printers, photocopiers, and steppers. They are best known, however, for their extensive line of digital cameras.
Today, Canon has become one of the most respected names in the world of cameras. Canon digital cameras today come in a variety of forms and an array of options. This includes everything from high resolution, digital zoom, and video recording capabilities. They are also noted for their SLR cameras. This makes them a popular choice among amateur photographers, professional shutterbugs, and companies alike.
Harley Davidson⢠is not just a motor cycle anymore, it much more. You can just about find the Harley Davidson⢠name on everything from a Ford F150 to sun glasses today. The three Harley brothers (William, Arthur, and Walther founders of Harley Davidson⢠Motor Cycles) have come a long way from that first motor cycle they built in 1903 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Now you can even have a stainless steel watch with the Harley Davidson trade mark on it. That’s right, they are now marketing men’s and women’s watches. What’s next, the space shuttle? That would be cool, a Harley Davidson Space Shuttle. I wonder what it would sound like.
I have been familiar with Targus products for many years and I thought that they only made computer bags and pull computer cases. I didn’t know that they were making a folding tray that supports a notebook computer or PDA keyboard while on your lap, plane service tray, or other surfaces that require more stabilization. The thin design allows the LapDesk to be packed easily in a notebook case alongside the computer, while it is sturdy enough to support the heaviest of laptops. The LapDesk also comes featured with an adjustable foot that can improve the cooling efficiency of your laptop by raising the back edge and increasing the airflow around the computer.
When you get a chance, check out the Targus Portable LapDesk for yourself. It is a cool idea, especially if you are traveler like me.
